Under the expert guidance of Teori Shannon, this Workshop focuses on the process of preserving insects.
Participants will learn basic insect anatomy while being guided through the process of insect rehydration, specimen repairs. Techniques for beetles, butterflies, moths and stick insects.
Pinning and displaying their specimens.
Participants are encouraged to bring along a pencil/pen and a notepad.
Final practice specimens are taken home to be displayed in your shadowboxes once dry.
Students will additionally get to select two readymade insects to pin and display in their shadowbox to take home.
All materials are supplied and ethically sourced where possible.
